🠈 Globe 🠊
Founded in 1875 as a mining camp on Pinal, Globe is the seat and largest city in Gila County. The city has grown to 7,532 in 2010.
The town is named for an unusual globe shaped silver nugget found in early prospecting days. Mining continues to be a primary industry in the region.
South of town, one finds the Besh-Ba-Gowah ruins which were occupied from 1225 to 1400.
